How can designers, writers, artists, developers and publishers intervene in the public debate and counter misinformation in a relevant manner?
Drawn to investigate this complex landscape of contemporary communication, together with Bruna Osthoff we attended the Urgent Publishing conference held in the Netherlands. The key question driving all conference discussions was: how can we as designers, writers, artists, developers and publishers intervene in the public debate and counter misinformation in a relevant manner?
With the intention to bring our insights back to the peers at LCC, we then wrote, designed and printed 150 copies of our Notes on Dynamic Interventions. The publication was a point of reference from which students went on to discuss contemporary communication strategies and the ways social media can interact with academic projects. This project was funded by the LCC Graduate School Student Fund.
